I was in Dakar in January 2013 to play in the Djeour Cissokho Allalaké group. I played in places full of Dakar, I made Jam in big fancy clubs with various orchestras, I played for the Children's Christmas customs and Group Cissokho. I recorded some personal stuff with my little Zoom recorder, a kind of book musical note. The first piece Dakar Senegal NO MIX version is saved in this way, the other version is a number 5 or PARA MIX I added my son's guitar and various ambient sounds of Dakar .
The second song is recorded in my studio in Paris with the spirit of SAMPLE. It is a tribute to Josée Lapeyrère. She was came home shortly before his death, for record this text for her personal use. I was happy to give him that service, and then several years later I found this file and I used to play this in his honor . I installed his beautiful voice on a solid kora tempo and she groove naturally. Djeour Cissokho was her husband. It is through Josée I met the griot. She told me : " My husband is a Senegalese griot and seeks a saxophonist ." It was on course and it was a chaotic but cooperation which lasted several years .
Tracks 3 and 4 are improvisations recorded in my studio in Paris, a mixture of jazz soprano sax and traditional elements with the kora. As the second piece is a pure studio sound manipulation as 1 , 3 and 4 are recorded one shot without any tinkering.
